EXPLORER OF MARS HAS RETURNED FROM THE USA

İTÜ ROVER TEAM, WHO MAINTAINS ITS PRACTICE UNDER THE CONSTITUTION OF İSTANBUL TECHNICAL UNIVERSITY, ONCE AGAIN DISPLAYED A VERY SUCCESSFUL PERFORMANCE AT THE UNIVERSITY ROVER CHALLENGE 2019, BETWEEN THE DATES OF MAY THE 30TH AND JUNE THE 1ST AT USA.

Founded under the constitution of İTÜ ARIGE Club, İTÜ Rover Team was established as student project team that would design, produce and develop robots for national and international robotic competitions. In 2014 İTÜ Rover Team, with its ARISAT Team has won the World Championship on The Cansat Model Satellite Competition, and was ranked at the top 3 with its ARIGE Team at the Robot Challenge Contest in 2016.

İTÜ Rover Team is currently uniting different students from different faculties and designing, producing and developing unmanned land vehicles that will be used on the expeditions on the Planet Mars and participating competitions in Europe and USA. İTÜ Rover Team, once again represented Turkey successfully with the sponsorship of Turkish Machinery at the University Rover Challenge, between the dates of May the 30th and June the 1st at USA.

RANKED AS 14TH BETWEEN 84 TEAMS

Targeting to contribute to Turkey’s first planet expedition vehicle, İTÜ Rover Team was able to continue its success just like in the previous years and pass the preselection stage between the 84 teams and deserved to be the only Turkish team to compete in the final round of the competition. At URC ’19, İTÜ Rover Team competed with three basic systems and had earned 86,13 points with its ‘System Acceptable Review’ video and was ranked 14th between 84 rivals, after the points it earned after four different missions.
