MACHINERY EXPORTERS’ ASSOCIATION REALIZED ITS 18TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY
MACHINERY EXPORTERS’ ASSOCIATION (MAIB) CARRIED OUT ITS 18TH GENERAL ASSEMBLY WHERE IT NEGOTIATED ITS 2018 ACTIVITIES AND 2019 WORKING PROGRAM.
18th Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of Machinery Exporters’ Association was carried out on 25th April in General Secretariat Service Building of Central Anatolian Exporters’ Association (OAİB). 2019 activity program and budget were approved in the meeting where 2018 activities of Board of Directors and Supervisors were acquitted with unanimity.
Kutlu Karavelioğlu, the Chairperson of MAİB Board of Directors drew attention that Turkish Machinery caught an export increase by 15% in the last year just like it has done for the last 10 years and said that: “We 10 times multiplied the machinery export in the last 17 years. We increased the share of the machinery out of the total export volume of Turkey to 10%. World machinery could multiply their export volume only for 2 times in the same period. We are speaking of a great achievement here.” in his speech in General Assembly directed by Cenap Rıfat Eke, the Chairperson of Council. Reminding that the machinery is one of the most major export items of the world in his speech, Karavelioğlu said that: The only capital of machinery manufacturer is human. Stop of a firm producing technology means to miss the people who are producing information and so turning back to the initial point. So, we should never stop. In order not to stop, we have to go on selling products no matter what.” and drew attention that there has not yet any adequate proper understanding towards the machinery sector and added that: “I still face with people questioning about our engineering skills. Well, how can we sell machinery for 200 million dollars of which kilogram value is 9 dollars to Germany in each month? Why does USA purchase machinery for 100 million dollars of which kilogram value is 14 dollars in each month from us? Even when the average export kilogram value of Turkey is 1.36 dollars! Of course we have engineering capacity and we are increasing our engineering skills and capacity despite everything. Why does the highest R&D investment and employment realize in machinery but not in other industries?”
Hasan Büyükdede, the Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology presented a speech in the General Assembly and Sevda Kayhan Yılmaz, the Deputy Chairperson of MAİB Board of Directors presented the 2018 Activity Report of MAİB to the General Assembly. General Assembly ended upon the financial and administrative acquittance of MAİB.
